Today's Workout Goals & Goats 2 x 1000m row or 2 x 800m run Rest 5 mins between Go for a new PR! D$ getting the work done!
Today's workout, designed by Coach Leslie, is a test of mental toughness as much as a test of physical overhead strength. This workout is all about commitment. Commitment is being all in or being 100% devoted to a task. It can be very intimidating to lift a progressively heavier barbell overhead. By the time you get to your jerk, you have to be ready and committed to getting under that bar! To successfully make the lift requires you to trust in the technique, to trust in your training, to trust in your strength, to trust...to trust. Trust is a challenging mental trait for many of us to develop. It seems, sometimes, that trust requires relying on someone or something outside of us. But, what if we learned to trust ourselves? Too often in life we focus on the failure, or the negative. But, if we really took stock, we'd find plenty of positive things that, if we paid attention, could lead us toward a place of trust. Trust means having confidence in your training, experience, knowledge, wisdom, etc. Trust also means taking a chance. Because you have such a terrific foundation of training, experience, knowledge and wisdom, you can try to lift that heavy barbell over your head. You can try something new. You can succeed. Trust me:-) Today's Workout True Spirit Press Total Find a 1 rep max press, then starting at that weight, find a 1 rep max push press, then starting at that weight, find a 1 rep max jerk (push or split is ok). This week's healthy lifestyle challenge is to identify things in our life for which we are grateful. A daily gratitude practice empowers us to live in the moment and take stock of all the positive aspects of our lives. Living in this positive frame of mind will bring in more positivity.
Sometimes, we can get bogged down with the daily stressors in our lives. Often, stress arrises from wanting things to be different. Gratitude changes us to be grateful for what we have instead of thinking about what we want. When we become thankful for what we have, rather than complain about what we don't have, we focus on the everyday blessings present in our lives. Focusing on the everyday blessings brings in more blessings. Like attracts like. What are you grateful for today? Share your daily blessings in the comments. Today's Workout Work on handstands/handstand walking & core strength then, For time 400m Walking Lunge Post total time and number of steps.
