Leslie Allen, #CEO and Head Coach
Always active as a kid, Leslie tumbled and cartwheeled her way through childhood until she learned to row on the Potomac River in Virginia her freshman year of high school. Rowing kept her, mostly, out of trouble. She enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in 1989 where she served as an aircraft firefighting and rescue specialist.
Leslie has been in the fitness industry since 1994. She started teaching aerobics and strength & conditioning classes in southern California after she completed 5 years on active duty in the Marines. She continued to teach fitness classes until she transferred to UC Davis. She was a competitive collegiate rower for UC Davis, where at the ripe old age of 25, she was the ‘oldest’ person to ever compete on the UC Davis crew team. Happy to be in the land of collegiate athletics she did her best to keep up with the 18 year olds and learned invaluable lessons in focus and determination. Leslie also assisted with dry-land training for the UC Davis Novice crew team.
She started CrossFit in 2010 and acquired her Level 1 Trainer in 2011. She has been coaching CrossFit since 2011. Leslie became a Level 2 Trainer in September 2014, she is also a Level 1 Precision Nutrition Coach, a USA Weightlifting Level II Coach, a 200 hour Registered Yoga Teacher and holds a CrossFit Endurance certificate.
Leslie is a US Masters Olympic Weightlifting competitor. She is the 2019 Pan American and World Masters Champion in her age and weight class. She holds National & Pan American records. She is the Montana State Champion and record setter in her division.
Leslie coaches CrossFit, Yoga and Foundations classes. She offers nutrition consultation and is happy to collaborate with anyone of a personal plan to health and wellness.

James Hedges, #Chief Fun Officer and CrossFit Coach
James grew up with the outdoors as a part of his life, camping, fishing, and hiking. James played organized soccer for 14 years, ran cross country and track, plus marching band… yes, the tuba in marching band. (Heck of a workout if anyone cares to know.) He’s participated in triathlons, marathons, century bike rides, long distance trail runs, epic rock climbing adventures, loves to telemark ski and fly fish, and he looks forward to utilizing this background to assist True Spirit CrossFit members in achieving their goals whatever they may be. Over the past 7 years James has taken on Spartan races as a new form of adventure and teaches our Obstacle Course seminars for the gym.
James has been participating in CrossFit since the summer of 2010 when he started doing park workouts. He completed his CrossFit Level one training in 2014, and has maintained his Level 2 since 2018, Most recently James completed the Aerobic Capacity seminar with Chris Hinshaw in 2022. He also completed the CrossFit Endurance Trainer course in 2012. He has led and assisted with rowing seminars and attended an Olympic lifting class taught by Sage Bergener. James recognizes coaching is a lifelong process, just like being fit. He looks forward to continually growing his skills through ongoing education and assisting all TSCF members in working towards being fit and healthy.
For his day Job James works for Higher Ground, a therapeutic recreation non-profit, as a Program Manager for Veteran and First Responders. He values service and a commitment to community (Former MCC board member and chair, WQW Volunteer and previous Volunteer Manager).
