It's going to be a snatchtastic day!
Yes! It's another day of Olympic Weightlifting. This is our last Oly training session before the CrossFit LiftOff on December 1. Today we are snatching. I know many of you do not like this particular Olympic lift. Remember, you don't need to get heavy to earn the benefits of this lift. Practicing and training the snatch develops power, speed, flexibility, coordination and a whole suite of other athletic benefits.
If you have limited mobility in your hips and shoulders you will split snatch. The split is our preferred way of snatching for nearly everyone.
However, it's always good to work to improve your mobility for a variety of positions. Today's Mobility Monday video is a short preview into a quick way to begin improving your overhead mobility. Coach Burgener starts with stance and grip. So should you. Good luck!
