Happy New Year! I am very excited for 2022. How about you? I can't wait to hear all about your goals, dreams and plans for 2022 during our New Year Check-in.! 
My family has strong southern roots and one of my favorite New Year's Eve traditions is eating black-eyed peas. When I was young they came from a can or bag. As I have developed my epicurean skills over my life I have learned the importance and value in knowing provenance of my food. Now, when I cook beans they come from Rancho Gordo.

​Sleep, Eat, Move and Manage

The New year is a natural time to establish healthy habits and that is why we are starting our 28 Day Healthy Habit Challenge on Monday, Jan 3. 
Most of you know I don't have faith in New Year's Resolutions. Most folks make them without a plan. Most New Year's resolutions are vague and un-measurable. They often don't have a time frame,  no set criteria for success, and over 80% of them fail in only 2 weeks. 
That is why we are offering a specific, time-bound challenge that has measurable outcomes. The challenge is focused on 4 important daily habits: sleep, eat, move and mindset which we call manage. 
Sleep - our goal is to fulfill your basic sleep quantity. 
Eat - our goal is to eat minimally processed, “real” foods and to find what works for your body to feel its best.
Move - our goal is to get at least at least 60 minutes of movement throughout the day.
Manage - our goal to to help you develop clarity on your values and priorities. 

You will work with Coach Leslie to determine your specific goal for each category. We will use the free app, Habit Share, to track our daily success and to create a social network of encouragement, accountability and motivation. 
During the course of this challenge, we’ll build more solid nutrition habits; practice mindfulness and build a daily meditation habit; stay engaged and challenged on  workouts; and improve our sleep.
We’ll undo the negative effects of Covid, the holidays, and many of the unhealthy lifestyle habits we let creep back into our lives.
This challenge will cost $299 for most people, but as a member of our TSCF tribe, you’ll get it for $149.
Your health is the most important thing to me right now. If you have friends who really need help finding focus and clarity in their health right now, share this with them. Let’s beat the long-term effects of this stupid pandemic together!

A suicide bomber killed seven CIA officers and one Jordanian officer at a remote base in southeastern Afghanistan on December 30, 2009 after posing as a potential informant reporting on Al Qaeda. Seven new stars will be etched onto the memorial wall at the CIA where every star represents grieving friends, family and colleagues dedicated to fight against the enemy, forever in their name. Killed in the attack were CIA officers Jennifer Lynne Matthews, 45; Scott Michael Roberson, 39; Harold E. Brown Jr., 37; Darren LaBonte, 35; Elizabeth Hanson, 30; and security contractors Jeremy Jason Wise, 35, and Dane Clark Paresi, 46.
Many folks erroneously believe that those who successfully lose weight, or quit drinking, or quit smoking, or stick to a fitness routine have some deep well-spring of intrinsic motivation. Nope, successful people create small, consistent wins that help them build a streak to keep them motivated. 
Consistency creates momentum and momentum creates motivation. Think about it, when you are starting something new, a small success feels so good that you want to continue. This is true for everything in life. All you need is one small win, then another, then another, string together a bunch of consistent small wins and you're on your way baby! 
All of us has something, or in my case several things, where we can do better. We can be better at sleeping, we can do more mobility, we can eat well, we can manage our stress, we can learn how to enjoy life's simple pleasures.
To help us start 2022 on a rock solid foundation we are offering a New Year Healthy Habits Challenge. 

To support you in this challenge you will get:
  • A paper calendar with each days tasks written on it. You can keep this visible as a reminder of what to do each day 
  • Us of the free app, Habit Tracker, to hold you accountable to your personalized goals 
  • A challenge accountability buddy
  • A private Facebook group 
​This challenge is less about counting your macros or weighing and measuring your foods and more about establishing healthy habits like eating more vegetables, eating more protein and drinking more water. How about that?!? A nutrition challenge that focuses on eating and drinking MORE not less. Sign me up!
