Siri and Noah row while Nanook does what he does best;-) Today starts the CrossFit Team Series. We have at least 5 teams interested in this online competition. The first workout is released today and out teams have until Monday to complete the workouts and enter their scores. Teams can be mixed or same gender, and you can compete in the scaled or Rx division. There are also age group divisions. I have written in prior blogs about how competition reveals character. I love participating the the CrossFit Team Series and the CrossFit Open. These online events allow me to do do the workouts when I want to do them. They allow me to be surrounded by the people I want to be with. The Team Series in particular is super fun because this year I'm teaming up with James and we get to work through all of the communication and logistic challenges together. It's a great lesson for our marriage. Team competitions are fantastic for developing your communication skills, your coping skills, your letting shit roll of your back skills, and for your conflict resolution skills. You just thought it was about working our with your gym BFF and swolemate. LOL! The Team Series is so. much. more. That is why I encourage ALL OF YOU to sign up! We will be offering plenty of opportunities for you to get these workouts done before Monday's deadline. You have Open Gym Thursday and Friday from 10-noon. You have Friday in class, AND you have Sunday morning at 9:30AM. So you really have no excuse. Grab your gym bestie, sign up, and have some fun! Check out the video below to learn more. Click on the infographic below to sign up for the Team Series. Remember, one of you signs up and pays $40. Then you send your link to your teammate so they can sign up. Let's have some TEAM SERIES FUN!

Brian K. jumps rope in the 9AM class. Brian is one of our original Silver Foxes and has been with for nearly 3 years! Nothing gets your heart going like jumping rope, and in today's workout we have plenty of it. However, some of us ride the struggle bus every time we pick up a rope. Some workouts leave us looking like we've been whipped by an angry coach:-) It's totally OK if you aren't, yet, proficient at jumping rope. It took Coach Leslie nearly 3 years to learn how to double under! It took Coach James 2 years. Coaches Heidi and Dover had a long journey as well. Coach Amanda is such a badass that she was born doing double unders. Coach Zach took an amazing jump rope specialty course over the summer and can not only do terrific double unders, but he can teach you how to improve your jumping skills. Why not book a 30 min skill session with him and take your jumping rope skills to the next level? In the meantime, enjoy today's Technique Tuesday video. It includes really great advice on body position. Good luck! Heather looks strong and confident in the bottom of her squat. You Can't Out Run |
