Our August 800g Challenge starts on MONDAY! Are you in? You don't have to be a regular member of our gym to join us! The Challenge can be done from ANYWHERE! You just need to have access to this GOOGLE FORM and a food scale like this. Why not use that 20% off Bed, Bath and Beyond coupon you just got in the mail?

This challenge is all about eating more fruits and vegetables. However, I have also added a Locavore element to it. Much like challenges in the past, you will enter your score daily online and earn points. Here's the point breakdown:
  • Eat 800g of fruits and vegetables - 4 Points
  • Exercise - 1 Point
ONLY if you eat 800g are you eligible to earn the following extra points:
  • Were your 800g from 6 or more different types of fruits and vegetables? 2 Points
  • Did your 800g include the weekly bonus challenge? 1 Point
  • Did any of your 800g come from within 100 miles of your home? 2 Points 
Each week we have a fun bonus challenge and we start off with being challenged to eat something orange every day. How fun is that? I love orange food, it's full of phytonutrients that are so good for you! Did you know the more colorful the food the more healthy vitamins and minerals it has? It's true! 
Some of my favorite orange foods are oranges (duh!), carrots, sun gold cherry tomatoes, squash blossoms, sweet potatoes, golden beets and my absolute favorite is the peach. 
To help you eat more orange vegetables next week I'm sharing this delicious recipe for maple dijon glazed roast carrots courtesy of closetcooking.com. Remember, you can weigh your food raw or cooked, either way it counts. Click on the image for the recipe. Happy eating!
