We are SUPER excited to announce we are running the Optimize Me Nutrition 800g Challenge in August. For the last 2 years we have promoted a Locavore Challenge in August, and while that has been fun, it hasn't had the results we wanted. We want YOU to eat MORE fruits and vegetables. Yes, your grandma was right, you need to eat your greens.
Fruits and vegetables are loaded with magical properties. Ok, not really but they are loaded with micronutrients like vitamins and minerals, phytonutrients, antioxidants, fiber, and a very important good for you macronutrient - carbohydrates.
Why 800g? There's been some important research that shows 800g is the optimal amount of fruits and vegetables we should eat for health.
This is 800g of weighed food NOT 800g of a macronutrient. Before you freak out that you can eat that many carbs, here's what 800g looks like.
This is a nutrition challenge of ABUNDANCE not restriction. You earn daily points for eating 800g, working out, and you can earn bonus points for food diversity, locally sourced food and a weekly challenge.
We will have an info session about the #800challenge at the gym the last week in July. The #800Challenge starts Monday, Aug 5. We will awards prizes for the winner and lots of other fun stuff for all participants. Be sure to read the info-sheet below for all the details and info on how to do the #800challenge.
