Today we continue with our snatch skill work. Last week we introduced the snatch balance and snatch pulls. These accessory snatch exercises help develop confidence and speed getting under the bar. Today you get to work on getting under the bar with the full expression of the snatch, the squat snatch.
Getting under the bar to receive the snatch in a squat takes confident, commitment and use of your fast twitch muscles. If you can get confident quickly reversing direction to receive the snatch, you will develop better balance and reaction skills. These skill are directly transferrable to sports like soccer, ultimate frisbee, and other activities where you have to reverse and change direction quickly. Good luck!
