Today's Technique Tuesday is with Coach Greg Gassman. Coach Gassman is the founder of CrossFit. In today's technique video he discusses the progressive way to learn gymnastics, by working SLOWLY and using negatives to build strength and skill.
Based on your Check-in feedback with Coach Leslie, we are going to start working on bodyweight gymnastic skills. You can expect that you will be working slowly through movements and spending some time working negatives and the eccentric phase. Today we will practice this with handstands. If you have a solid handstand against the wall, you will practice the slow descent shown in this video. If you don't have a solid handstand, you'll be spending some time in plank, weighted plank, downward dog or downward dog against the wall.
Strength: Burgener Back Squat Week 5
Skill: Work on handstands and hand balancing
As many rounds and reps as possible in 12 min of:
3 Squat Snatches 95/65#
3 Chest to Bar Pull-us
Increase by 3 reps each round
