WOOHOOO! It's #foodiefriday! This week has been one for the ages. I have heard the words, historic, record-breaking, and unprecedented in more sentences this week than in my entire lifetime. Leading up to the election I read several books about the American revolution and early American history. I wanted to be fully grounded in how we came to be a democracy before I exercised my most-important civil duty. It's in this spirt that I share with you today's #foodiefriday recipe for beef barley soup with roasted vegetables from tasteofhome.com. This soup was a popular recipe in early American life. Barley grew in abundance in Colonial America, and barley soup was a common way to warm up on a cold day. I hope this recipe warms your soul and helps you feel connected to our American history. As always, click on the image for the recipe. Enjoy!
