Addie says get more sleep!
Many of us in the gym are participating the in Fall 2014 Whole Life Challenge. We're into Week 4 and we're seeing inches lost, increased energy, improved productivity and happier balanced lives in general. Each week we have a lifestyle challenge, this week we are challenged with getting at least 7 hours of sleep. The challenge allows for naps to make up for sleep missed the night before. How is your sleep? Are you getting at least 7 hours?
Did you know that when you sleep human growth hormone is released? This is the hormone that helps you recover from CrossFit, life, stress, etc. Adequate sleep helps reduce inflammation, lowers cortisol, and a whole host of other hormonal balancing functions. Sleep deprivation affects your cognitive abilities, your mood, your motor skills, in short, everything. Getting adequate sleep is important!
