We all live messy lives. To one extant or another, it is impossible to avoid the messiness that comes with being a human being. Some of the clutter in our lives is inevitable, but how much is the result of outmoded thought patterns or habits of behavior? Use this week’s challenge as a tool for not only de-cluttering your home or office, but also your mind. Take time to examine the objects in your life. This is not a passing examination. Sit with each object. What role does it play in your life? Does it bring you joy? When was the last time you used this item? If it’s been more than 6 months, you may not need it. What is your emotional reaction to seeing/holding/ thinking about this item? Work your way through the items in your life in this manner, carefully inspecting the reasons that each is in your life and whether it should remain. If you do decide that there are some items in your life that you no longer need, please be kind to our planet. Instead of stuffing them in the landfill, donate them to a thrift store. There may be someone out there for whom that item can bring greater joy and fulfillment. Best of luck in your inquiries. You need to spend lots of time practicing this skill so that you can create the neurological and motor skill pathways to get it efficiently. It may take some of you days, weeks, months or years to get proficient with your double unders. Keep at it. Eventually you will get them.
