Join Coach Kendra this morning at 9am for a FREE community CrossFit via Zoom. Get excited for a 20 min workout that can be enjoyed by the ENTIRE family! You will need something that you can lift from the ground to overhead. Get creative! Use that 20lb bag of rice you just bought from Costco! Or, how about your doggy? Maybe you can even lift your hubby? Also, have ready something you can step onto. It doesn't need to be very high 10-20 inches tall is just fine. Raise your hand if you love your remote coach! WHEW! We made it through another week of #socialdistancing and working from home. We are going to be doing this for a bit longer as the Gallatin Health Department voted to extend non-essential (that's us folks) business closures until April 17th. Get ready for 3 more week of creative at-home workouts and regular daily check-ins with your remote coach. Our entire coaching team is so impressed with your consistency, adaptability, good humor and improvisation with working out at home and your receptiveness to being remotely coached. Adversity, like competition, reveals our character and our TSCF tribe is made up of incredible people. Every day since this Covid craziness has started I've given you one thing each day on which to focus. We are upping this single focal point into a 14-day challenge starting on Sunday. You will still get one thing to focus on, and now you might be asked to show us proof of completion. It's our way of providing a little structure in our uncertain world. Some of these tasks involve social media. It's ok if you're not on FB, IG or LinkedIn, you can still play by commenting directly on this blog. Do you see that small blue Comments link under the big red WOD button? Click that to play along starting this Sunday. Well, it certainly wouldn't be #foodiefriday without a recipe. It's still cold here in Bozeman and we're all hunkering down at home. Why not enjoy your morning coffee with these delicious blueberry almond flour muffins from Dishing up the Dirt. Click on the image for the recipe. Enjoy! Join us for our FREE community CrossFit class Saturday at 9am!Get excited for a 20 min workout that can be enjoyed by the ENTIRE family!

Today, your one thing to do is to get back on track with your hydration. Before all of the Covid craziness went down, we used to have a routine. We meal prepped and packed our bags for work. We had a water bottle that we refilled several times a day. We had structure. Now we have working in our bathrobe, day drinking, and a total breakdown of our routine. Let's add back some of the parameters of our healthy lifestyle. Let's get our hydration back on track. Now, you can drink water all day and not worry what your co-workers think of your multiple trips to the bathroom. Just don't run out of toilet paper! Our hydration goal for today is to drink 1/3 to 1/2 of our body weight in ounces of water. Good luck! Remember when we used to play physical games? We will again someday!
Breathing is an automatic process that we don't have to specifically think about. You're breathing as you're reading this and you don't have to think about it. It's automatic. Of course, you can willingly hold your breath for a short time. If you try to hold it too long your body will force you to take a breath. Our collective stress level is high and rising with each passing day of physical distancing and social withdrawl. We seem to be busier than ever even though we're spending most of our day at home. Today, your one thing to do is one minute of deep and intentional breathing. Deep and intentional breathing, even for just one minute, calms our nervous system, releases tension, and gives us a much need moment of peace. You can stand, sit or lie down to practice this style of breathing. I like to do it lying down. Put one hand on your belly and one on your chest. Take a deep breath and gently let your your belly push your hand out before you fill your chest. You can breathe in through your nose and out through your mouth if you like. Do this for one minute today and notice how you feel after. When you find yourself getting angry, annoyed, irritated, frazzled or tense take a pause and notice your breath. See if a few deep belly breaths give you a bit of calmness in an uncertain time. Good luck! |
