“The only constant in life is change”-Heraclitus
Today is #transformationtuesday for our nation. No matter the outcome it will certainly bring change of some kind, and, this too, shall pass.
Folks talk about this being the most divided time in modern history. If you look at the image above of the electoral college results for the past 24 elections you'll notice other times when we have been divided. It's just we have been more consistently divided over the course of our lifetime.
I usually write about mental toughness on Thursdays, and I figured today we could all use a reminder of the benefits of learning to live with change. We can find peace (and love and barbells) if we learn to tolerate change.
Notice I didn't say embrace. I'm not sure embracing change is the right idea. Some changes really suck and I don't want to embrace them. However, I do want to learn to tolerate them so they don't overwhelm me and send me down a dark path.

1. Get emotional -- Working towards acceptance
We are all in the same ocean, and some of use are in different boats. How you navigate the changing seas is totally dependent upon how you captain your boat. Let's help each other weather these storms together with love, patience, compassion and empathy. Good luck! We're going to need it.
