Coach Dover, Why do You Whoop? Why did you decide to wear Whoop? I didn’t have any form of fitness tracking so I thought I’d try it since so many of the cool kids were using it. How long have you been wearing Whoop? About 6 weeks. What is your goal for wearing Whoop? I’m hoping it will help motivate me to increase my exercise and be more conscious of intensity. What have you learned so far? I don’t exercise at a high enough intensity often enough. I have a fairly low resting heart rate, and for the most part I sleep well. Have there been any challenges with wearing Whoop? I don’t like wearing things on my wrist so that bugs me a lot but hoping I will get used to it over time. I don’t understand all the numbers yet and need to spend more time figuring out what they all mean. Do you have any advice for new Whoop users? Get one and start learning more about yourself. I just learned that the data are so reliable that it's a predictor for early COVID symptoms. It's motivating to wear because it makes you think more about your movement and recovery. Kris, Why do You Whoop? Why did you decide to wear Whoop? I really enjoyed Leslie's blog about it. Then in class Coach James was explaining all about it and then Dover said she had it so I was convinced. After that class I learned how many other people had it and I was super excited to join the Whoop group. I was really intrigued by the Strain, Recovery and Sleep performance options. I wanted to know more about myself and how to dial in better performance. My watch was fine but as I wanted a better reading on my performance when I was lifting. I wanted something with a more accurate reading of the whole performance activity. I spend a lot of time at work stressed, I also want to see how that affects my performance as well. How long have you been wearing Whoop? Since August 24th What is your goal for wearing Whoop? To really dial in my performance. I want to know when I can be working harder, how hard I have been working and how it affects my ability to do it again tomorrow. I also like the recovery option, we all need those recovery days. Hopefully I can manage my stress better as well. What have you learned so far? I love my Whoop strap. I get so excited to see how the numbers change day to day. So far I have learned that I recover faster than I thought I did, I need to sleep better and that when it says I need a recovery day, I probably really do need one. I also like the journaling questions you get to choose from, really this strap is exactly what I was looking for. Horseback riding is even an option and high strain, I knew it was a good workout. I also discovered that some days at work really are as hard and stressful as they feel. Have there been any challenges with wearing Whoop? Which wrist to wear it on...but I googled it and it doesn't say I have to wear it on the left (that wrist is occupied), so the right it is. You can get bicep straps so I figured it must be ok. I wish I had ordered a variety of straps. Do you have any advice for new Whoop users? When you first get it, pull harder to open it up to adjust the strap. Really- you won't break it. It was the hardest part so far.
