Who's ready for winter?
​The Fall Whole Life Challenge starts September 17th. The WLC is 
more than just a nutrition challenge, it's a holistic challenge. We work to create better choices and habits in 7 significant lifestyle choices. 

One lifestyle choice that has profound effects on our mental and physical health is alcohol consumption. I have had Mid Year Check-ins with over half of our members, and almost ALL of us want to drink less. Seriously! Drinking less is the identified nutrition and lifestyle goal of nearly all of us. So why not tip-toe into temperance this week?

​That's right! Our pre-game WLC Weekly Lifestyle Challenge this week is to not drink. This lifestyle practice is so important that it is an ACTUAL pre-game challenge from the folks at the WLC. Here's what they have to say about it. 
Say No to Booze Every Day This Week
Simple Instructions:
  1. This week, don’t consume alcohol — beer, wine, or spirits.
  2. You can choose to avoid environments where alcohol is served altogether (such as bars and restaurants) or you can practice making alternative choices, such as club soda rather than a cocktail.
  3. Regardless, we’ll learn firsthand the effect that alcohol has on our wellness by temporarily omitting it from our lives.
Why Is This Practice Important?
Alcohol is a daily presence in our lives — at celebrations, at mealtimes, and during simple leisure. It serves as a cue for relaxation and social connection and helps ease interactions in new relationships, both personal and business.

It is an accepted (and perhaps expected) practice to drink.

At the same time, alcohol consumption has a host of potentially negative effects — sleep disruption, dehydration, depressed mood, reduced athletic capacity, increased body fat, impaired judgement, and more.

This week, we’ll explore what life is like without alcohol, determining for ourselves if the benefits of abstaining are greater than the social benefits. In the process, you’ll observe your mood, behavior, and performance, learning firsthand the effect that alcohol has on your life.

The Whole Life Challenge is all about experimenting to find what makes a positive difference for you. This eight-week challenge will have you try on different habits, and as a result you will improve your mind and your body, leaving you happier, healthier, and more in control of your lifestyle. If you’re ready for a change, this is your opportunity.

4 x 100m sprints

Walk 100m between efforts
Rest 3 mins
3 x 200m sprint
Walk 200m between efforts
Rest 4 mins
2 x 400m sprint 
Walk 400m between efforts
Rest 5 mins 
1 x 800m sprint
Make one PR attempt for each distance.
