Allison, Why do You do CrossFit?What was your fitness, CrossFit, or yoga "life" like before you started training with True Spirit CrossFit & Yoga.
Before joining TSCF I was living in a Belize and Moab (UT). I never had never heard of CrossFit before spending time in Belize. While in Belize I tried CrossFit a few times and had a ton of fun doing it. After workouts we would run off the end of the doc into the ocean! In Moab, I tried to do Yoga a few days a week after work. What brought you to True Spirit CrossFit & Yoga in the first place? I was in Bozeman visiting family for the winter and decided I wanted to try a different Box. Upon researching the CrossFit options in Bozeman, I picked TSCF. The website gave a very unassuming, friendly and welcoming vibe. It didn't seem like your typical BRO gym. What was your first impression? Has that changed? My 1st impression - I first remember coming to a noon class and thinking WOW! These ladies are super fit! And they are Moms!! I want to be like them when I grow up! What was the first thing fun or positive thing you experienced while training with us? I had been coming and going for 2015 and into summer of 2016. I officially joined when I moved to Bozeman in fall 2016. Once I joined I couldn't believe how quickly everyone learned my name and welcomed me. Taking Heidi's Barbell class sealed the deal for me. Lifting weights at lunch with a bunch of strong ladies was AWESOME! And I couldn't believe how quickly MY OWN body was progressing! From there on out things have been so fun! Row'd Royalty, Open and the Festivus Games! Are you working on any special CrossFit related skill now? Right now I'm working towards not only my 1st pull up but my first 14 pull ups! I want to be able to get a "free" beer at Outlaw Brewing by my birthday! (June 28th) How has you life changed since training with TSCF? Since training with TSCF I have noticed a significant change in my body, mind and spirit! My body has changed shape (no loss of weight though), my mind knows that its okay to fail and try again another time/day and my spirit and energy levels are amazingly high all the time (even when I'm tired & sore)! I was never motivated to workout (or sweat) on my own and now I find myself talking, thinking and appreciating it more and more. I have a new respect for body shape, ability and form. "FIT" absolutely does not mean looking like a magazine center fold or a yoga model or the HULK. What's your favorite True Spirit CrossFit memory? There are so many! My NEW favorite is going to the CrossFit Open. Having a gym full of people where we all struggle, sweat, cheer, conquer and PR together builds an amazing bond! You learn a lot about yourself and your team. (I still cant believe that I did all of the 17.3?? toes to bar after figuring it out the night before! I haven't been able to do more than 2 linked together since then!)
