Clearing your mind is a mental toughness practice that help's prepare you for any challenge. Just like any other skill, clearing your mind requires practice. Ironically, the more you try to actually clear your mind the more difficult it is. Clearing your mind can often be achieved by focusing solely on one thing. Focusing on your breath is a great way to clear your mind. One focusing technique is to count 10 deep breaths. Breathe deeply and slowly 10 times. Notice how the air feels as it flows through your nose. Notice how your chest and abdomen rises and falls with each breath. If you find your mind wondering away from your breath and the count. Start over. It might take you a few attempts to successfully focus on 10 breaths. Don't worry, keep trying. Good luck!
