OH MY GOODNESS IT'S THE FINAL OPEN WORKOUT!!
This Open has been AMAZING! So many of our athletes have done fantastic things, first box jumps, first push-ups, first hand-stand push-ups, first pistol squats, heaviest clean & jerks in a workout, etc. All of us Coaches are so proud of you. Our phones have blown up every Friday as we brag about our classes to each other. Nice job everyone! You should be so proud of what you've accomplished. Who's ready for next year's Open?
Have you noticed that Open workouts take just a little bit more out of you? Competitions, like the CrossFit Open, can tax us in ways we aren't used to. We have a bit more adrenaline and a bit more cortisol coursing through our veins. We take on the workouts with an intensity and ferocity that we don't normally tap into during our regular training and practice. That's why we love competitions! They reveal our character and take us to an place we don't normally visit.
Recovery becomes even more important during The Open, and other competitions like Row'd Royalty and the Festivus Games. The 3 most important recovery practices are sleep, nutrition and mobility. Have you noticed you need more sleep and are really hungry Saturday? Yep - that's normal and you should pay attention to what your body is saying to you.
