If you are paying attention, you'll notice that the people in the gym who are really crushing it are the ones that are careful with their nutrition and who attend classes consistently. We coaches see it all the time. It's no surprise to us that the folks who are looking good, feeling good and having the most fun are the ones who attend an average of 12 classes a month, do nutrition challenges, and try to keep up healthy lifestyle habits even when they're not on doing a challenge.
Twelve classes per month is the minimum effective CrossFit dose. Anything less than this and your progress is slow, you're continually sore, and you just don't learn the techniques.
Eating meat, veggies, nuts & seeds, some fruit, little starch and no sugar is the most effective nutrition program. Deviate from this and you'll be bloated, unhappy and miserable.
Yet, so many folks aren't careful with their nutrition and find many reasons why getting to the gym consistently is just too damn hard. Well guess what? If you want to look different, feel different, perform differently, be happier, be healthier and be a badass, you have to pay careful attention with what you put in your mouth and you have to move your body every day.
These 2 simple truths, eat well and exercise, will have a profound impact on your mental and physical health. It's also why we choose to track out lifestyle choices during our nutrition challenges.
Let's face it, it's so much easier to eat pizza and binge watch Netflix. But, easy is not what you're about. You're a CrossFitter! You do amazing things. Why not support your gym efforts with equivalent effort in nutrition, hydration, mobility and sleep? Why not become the total badass you were born to be?
