WOOHOOOO! It's the September Showdown Finale! Yes, I know it's October.
We have been enjoying some super friendly and lively competition with our Showdown. Today we return to the barbell and we're getting heavy. YAY
Last week was the first week the Rig Shakers outscored the WOD Slayers. I find this interesting since it was workout without a barbell, it was a long workout, and it was a lightweight workout. Are the Rig Shakers really better at bodyweight endurance workouts?
The WOD Slayers pulled ahead early and stayed there before they consistently lift more of their bodyweight in the barbell workouts. They deadlifted and squatted more of their bodyweight and we will see today if they can clean their bodyweight.
Here's how last week's workout played out:
Completed the workout: 15 Rig Shakers vs. 13 WOD Slayers
Finished Top 3 Rx: 4 WOD Slayers vs. 2 Rig Shakers = 12 points for WOD Slayers vs. 6 points for Rig Shakers
Finished Top 3 Scaled: 4 Rig Shakers vs. 2 WOD Slayers = 12 points for Rig Shakers vs. 6 points for WOD Slayers.
As you can see, attendance matters. More Rig Shakers did the workout, either at the gym or the at-home workout, than WOD Slayers. Each team earned the same amount of points for finishing in the top 3.
How will it go today? Hopefully we'll have max capacity of 9 people in each class and all of you will lift heavy and fast. GOOD LUCK!
